Everyday Clay Studio
Announces:
Kimberly Young & Margarete Bagshaw
in
“Multiplicity:
Abundance, Strength and Beauty”
St. Thomas, VI -
On Saturday, April 25, 2009, Everyday Clay Studio will hold an opening
reception for its new show entitled
“Multiplicity:
Abundance, Strength and Beauty.”
The show will feature new works by gallery owner Kimberly Young and
works by St. Thomas newcomer, Margarete Bagshaw.
The theme and
title of the show,
“Multiplicity”
helps to describe the artwork that will be shown. Young,
traditionally a potter, has created mixed
media
and
installation pieces that contain large numbers of tiny pieces. Always
being interested in the rhythms and patterns in nature, or how parts
come together as a whole to create tension, Young has produced several
works that display a
“unity
in numbers.”
Modernist,
Margarete Bagshaw will be showing new paintings with boldly colored
abstract shapes, twists and
turns,
amongst thoughtfully placed designs and motifs. "My heritage shows up in
my patterns and back grounds, but my paintings are composed in a very
post modern way." She will also be showing pieces from her new
collection of clay work. She describes them as her paintings on clay.
Please join us for
a champagne opening reception from 5-8pm, on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at
Everyday Clay Studio at Tillett Gardens. For more information, please
